Since HOLC was founded in 2012, we have made 241 awards totaling more than $148,000. Our first recipients were the high school class of 2012 and they are now college graduates and going on to work and graduate school. Here are our first college graduates:

Tamekia Daniels attended Hardeeville Middle/High School and graduated in 2012. She is a 2016 graduate of South Carolina State University with a major in accounting. She successfully completed an internship with Altria Group, Inc. in Richmond, Virginia last year and has now been hired by Altria in their Client Services division. HOLC is very proud of Tamekia.

Tibra Wheeler graduated from Bluffton High School in 2012 and went on to attend the University of South Carolina in Columbia majoring in Biomedical Engineering. She has been on the Dean's List and is a member of Tau Beta Pi, the engineering honor society. Tibra is in a PhD program at Cornell University to continue her education pursuit of a career in making prosthetics for children.

Alex Bailey graduated from Bluffton High School in 2012 and graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2016. She majored in Animal Science and Kinesiology and is currently pursuing a degree in Veterinary Medicine.
